When playing the ps5 pro the quality is great except for a problem i have when playing certain games, its like a white flicker when i pan the camera slowly especially on games like call of duty or story it will appear on walls doors and bushes drivien games. Its very noticeable too

Connections, features, and support

I did have issues with HDMI connections, including DIRECTV and the sound bar. Picture quality is excellent and the 24 hour support with the assistant, Flor, was also excellent

Great Performer

I purchased the 98-inch model (2024 QM851G) 3 weeks ago. It was a tough decision to choose between this, the Hisense U8, and the LG C4. At the end, what make choose the QM851G was the size, price and PQ. At 98 inches the sense of immersion is just hard to beat. However, like all tv's is not perfect. I find the sound to be ok, is powerful but for me it lacks a bit of fidelity and the bass is just flat. Sure, I don't expect this tv to perform sound like a home theater but a good sound bar or AVR is the way to go. However, I found surprisingly good the ATMOS effect coming from the top speakers. Sometimes you see some audio products with the ATMOS logo but they are only gimnick, but with this tv I'm very Impressed. The QM8 it struggles with upscaling low bitrate or SD content, that's not a concern for me since I watched most of the content in HD and 4K. I enable motion control but only adjust the judder reduction and blur to 3. For me, this creates the most natural and crisp picture across the board. This TV has powerful brightness, excellent contrast, in fact, the screen is so bright that I think TCL should provide a pair of free sunglasses with every purchase (hahaha). I notice just a bit of blooming in some content, also out of the box colors are good but not great. So after setting the TV to movie mode and do a full calibration, the QM8 is a gem. It has excellent black levels (very close to OLED), HDR content in HDR10+ or DV is just beautiful with colors that just pop. The TV has great sharpness and very good dynamic tone mapping. This TV is great for gaming, it has a 120hz refresh rate panel. Playing on my PS5 Pro I cannot complaint of any lag issues. Also the game menu is not as polish as an LG or Samsung but it does the job very well. Overall, TCL has made a top performer with the QM8, and best of all it rivals some more expensive TV sets with its mini-led technology, size and price point. Finally, I recommend you to take sometime to dial in the colors and you will be rewarded with a breathtaking picture quality that it will bring a big smile in you.
