This book was really exciting to read and always keeps you ready to turn the page and read on. The book has many plot twists like when it turns out his treasure is where the story started. There were also a few antagonists like the man he met at the bar who offered to take him to see the pyramids and ended up stealing his money. He also received guidance from the old king and the alchemist. The mix of all of that brings the story together into an interesting read.

Great Read, Would Recommend.
The Alchemist was a very good read, as it contained very inspiring messages such as ‘Follow your dreams’, and ‘True love exists’. These messages in the book were conveyed through vivid storytelling which immersed you into the book. The mix between adventure and a little bit supernatural creates an interesting journey Santiago embarks on. The message “Follow your dreams” was persistent throughout the novel. With such instances being the ‘Omens’ Santiago notices, and his mentor which guides him towards the end of the book. Santiago followed his dream ever since he had it in the bombed out church, which eventually led him full circle to finding his treasure. Along his journey, he met his true love Fatima. Santiago had an encounter with what he thought was love early in the book, but realized at the end true love was different. It required commitment and patience. These messages and lessons throughout the book made it very enjoyable to read. Definitely a book I would recommend for those who dream big and want to achieve great things.

Good Book
This book is very motivational, it teaches us about following your dreams and if you work hard towards that dream you can achieve it. This book also shows what true love can really look like when Santiago meets Fatima and she tells him to continue with his personal legend. Santiago believing in his personal legend helps him keep going because many times in the book we can see he is about to give up like when in the beginning he was robbed and decided to work for the crystal merchant. It was not until he remembered the old man and the rocks that made him continue on with his personal legend. With the book it does get confusing on who is talking and who's point of view it is because when the views change they don't tell who's view it is you have to read and make a guess but also it makes the book more interesting when one point of view is Santiago's and then the next its the alchemist, keeps you more interested in the book especially when we first get the point of view of the alchemist. Overall this was a good book and would recommend it to people who have not read it yet.

The Book tied together at the end
I really don’t think this book is dry at all; it’s actually a great journey about discovering yourself and what really matters. Sure, the beginning might feel a bit slow, but the ending really ties everything together in a way that makes you think. The main character goes on this big adventure, only to find out that the treasure he was searching for was right back where he started, at the church. That twist is so powerful because it reminds us to appreciate our beginnings. It’s like they say, “It’s not how you start, but how you finish,” but this book flips that idea on its head. It shows that every part of the journey is important, even if it feels like you’re going in circles. The experiences he has along the way—meeting new people, exploring new places, and even finding love—are what really matter. It’s all about taking risks and going after your dreams because those moments are what make life beautiful and worth remembering.

Amazing Book
I think this book is a great read for highschool students and adults. This is because it shows many life lessons that everyone will learn in their life but it is better to know these lessons from a early age than later in life because you will get tpo use what you leaned in your life. For example when the main character Santiago was reading his book and drinking his wine on the bench in the city plaza the king of salem started sitting next to him, and talking non stop to young Santiago. Santiago was getting frustrated as he was trying to read but instead of leaving and moving to a different spot he actually engages in conversation with the king. He soon learns that there is hidden treasure in egypt that will make him very rich and if he ignored the old man and didn't talk to him at all he would never even know about any of the treasure. This proves that you should always respect your elders because they might actually have something important to say.

Good Book
Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" offers a thoughtful exploration of themes like personal destiny and the importance of following one's dreams, making it an interesting read. The journey of Santiago as he seeks his "Personal Legend" touches on many meaningful ideas about fate and self-discovery, encouraging readers to reflect on their own paths in life. However, I would say that the storyline sometimes lacks excitement and could have included more intriguing moments to keep the reader engaged . The book shares valuable insights about spiritual growth and connection, the plot sometimes feels predictable, and a little dragged out. The philosophical discussions can overshadow the action just a little. "The Alchemist" has a lot to say, but a more engaging narrative could have made its messages even more impactful. Still a great read and by the end of the story you understand Santiago's journey , and can take inspiration from it.

A look back on those who criticizes.
The alchemist is a book whose contents talk deeply about becoming the personal legend one chases. The book can be interpreted in many ways in its set up. At the start of the book the story is very simple using the hero's journey as the guiding point to how the story is played. However halfway the book takes a turn confusing the initial understanding of one changing the direction of the book, to a story of the abstract. Now no longer is the story focused on the material world as a new world about ideology and introspection. When I read this book initially for the first time I found myself lost and interested in continuing. I feel this may have been the same for many others on their first read as the shift in writing definitely threw off those who criticize the source stating its inconstancy. However when looking back at the criticisms they lack the ability to state which moments specifically in the second half of the book ruined their experience. I believe it was for the same reason I almost wrote a dismissive review, which was the lack of revisiting the book. At face value the book is a story which doesn't follow the traditional book tropes or expectations we expected, on my second reading when I came back to the book from a fresh mindset. Reading the second half of the book as a separate story rather than a contusions story segment allowed me to appreciate the second half as I was able to ease into the style of writing. I urge many who have themselves in the same situation as myself to give the story a second chance and allow yourself to understand that while weird and non-conventional the author uses the opportunity to interest euphoric metaphors and similes.

a great book but not the best
while it was a great book I found it a little dull. the themes were great stuff like a boy traveling to find what is in the unknown, falling in love, and overcoming difficulty. all that was all great but the story felt so slow droning over the same topic for pages at a time. So even though it was a great book with an amazing story the way Paulo Coelho tells it makes it a little hard to sit down and read.
