If you liked the movie, you'll love the book
After seeing the movie, I was encouraged to read the book by my grandson who is a high school rowing coach. So glad I did. This non-fiction book reads like a novel with well developed characters and a swiftly moving plot. I loved the details about boatbuilding, and the rowing sequences made you feel like you were right in the boat with the oarsmen. Highly recommended

I had to read this for an english class, and I loved this! I would constantly try to read ahead to see what happened and then reread the chapter for homework. I kept this book even after covid and I think about this book to this day. I really hope that the movie is as great as the book.

Review
This book especially kept me hooked in as the author began to connect the reader to Joe on an emotional level. Learning about Joe's terrible home life growing up taught me many emotional life lessons on dealing with neglect and abuse in life. Daniel James Brown's account of Joe Rantz's story is credible due to the fact that he did many interviews with Joe in order to accurately depict his life into a memoir.

Highly Recommend
The Boys In The Boat is a book wirrten by Daniel James Brown that tells the inspiring tale of Joe Rantz and the Washington Huskies Crew Teams epic jounrey to gold at the 1936 Olympics. The book is loaded with legends, as people like Ky Ebright, Al Ulbrickson, and Tom Bolles appear in this memoir. It pulls the strings of your heart as it accounts Joes rough childhood and the abandonement he faced as a child. I would highly recommend this book to anyone needing inspiriation. Overcoming adversity was nothing to these blue collar boys who arose from the heart of the Great Depression. Pushing past limits was nothing new to these kids and this determination can be credited to the gold medal win. The tale of gold and the story of Joe has stopped at no ends and continues to inspire people to this day. In all, The Boys In The Boat is a great read that Daniel James Brown could not have done any better

The Boys In The Boat
This book really spoke to me as I play a sport myself, it shows that hardwork and determination will pay off. Joe Rantz story influenced my thinking because I don't have a life that hard as he did. And that all the stuff that he went through paid off and made him into a successful man. This book teaches Young men and women the process behind the physical and logical part of rowing. Joe Rantz is an example that hard work does pay off even if you didn’t come from the best childhood.
