Ideal Cast Iron Cookware

Haven't used the pot yet. However it is quite heavy and the color looks great. The pot is very heavy. Heavier than most more expensive pots from William Sonoma

Nice enough but incorrect weight listed

This is a nice enough Dutch Oven. It is not a 5 star, but decent enough to be a 4 star. However, I bumped it down to a 3 star because it is listed as 5 pounds and a few ounces but it is actually a full 14 pounds. I had a Dutch oven of the same volume, but at about 14 pounds, it was getting heavy. When I saw this one at only a little over 5 pounds, I thought, ‘well maybe it’s not quite as good quality but at least it will be more manageable for me when it’s filled with food and other liquid.’ Actually, my other Dutch oven was nicer, but when I ordered this one, a friend was over and I gave to them, and it’s too late to get it back. I will keep this one listed here because it was inexpensive and good enough for my use, but seriously, that weight is so far off. It’s far more than double. It might not sound like a lot, but when it’s heavy and full of hot liquid and food, a difference of 8 or 9 pounds matters. If weight doesn’t matter to you, then I would say it could be a 4 star.
