Football and Pedicures
I really wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book as I have never been interested in sports romance. I don’t know why but the idea of one or both of the main characters being athletes have never appealed to me. However, upon learning that Teddy Hamilton was one of the narrators of the story, I didn’t seem to care as much because he is a brilliant narrator that brings the characters and the story to life in vivid display. Secondly, it doesn’t take long for the reader to fall for both Bree and Nathan. These two characters are too adorable and the only annoying thing about them is that it took them this long to figure out they are crazy for one another and belong together. Really, how wonderful is it to be in love with your best friend and they feel the same? Of course, you need to communicate that with each other and they communicate it loud and clear to their inner monologues, but it takes them a while to get with the program. However, I forgave them because they are adorable. This is the first book in a series and I’m still on the fence about whether I want to commit to another series. If you saw how many titles I have sitting on my Kindle and iPod, you would totally understand my hesitation. This book is my first by author Sarah Adams. I don’t understand why I haven’t picked up anything by her before as she has a fresh voice and humor that comes through so eloquently. I also loved meeting all the secondary characters and Nathan’s teammates were hysterical. Let’s just say that when I think of pedicures and football players in the same sentence in the future, I will burst out laughing all over again. Additionally, I liked that this story had depth and substance between the characters outside of the bedroom. When done well, the heightened anticipation of what is simmering between the main characters can be much better than just tossing everything out and jumping between the sheets. My Final Verdict: Overall, this is a great story to choose if you are looking for something that will increase your heart rate and tickle your funny bone. I highly recommend it to all readers of the contemporary romance and romantic comedy genres because it gives the reader all the warm fuzzies we look for in this genre. Thank you to the publisher, Dreamscape Media, who provided an advance reader copy via NetGalley.

I'm not sure if Adams is the author for me.
3.5-3.75 rounded up Okay I'm going to go with the 3.5 for sure but keep it rounded up for here. The whole book I was smiling and giggling. Friends to Lovers is very much not my favorite trope, but everyone is talking about this book and I've enjoyed the other Sarah Adams books I read so when Libby had the audio as a skip the line, I jumped. Bree and Nathan's internal monologues had me cracking up and giggling. It's the savior of this story for sure. It was adorable, as I knew it would be. The idea of the Cheat Sheet and the other football players helping him with it was adorable (the discussion and white board scene had me cracking up. But after they got the list together, they kind of never mention it again. It's casually tossed out that "this didn't work" or "this did," but we didn't get to experience Nathan actually making the items happen and what happened (we get a few but not many) and I thought that was the whole point. I was ready to give this a solid 4-4.5 stars for the closed door romance that Adams is known for until the end. The end of the book is so lukewarm at best that it let me down and honestly shifted my entire mood toward the story. I was on board the whole time then returned the book to Libby punching the return button with such force that I'm surprised I didn't crack my screen. I'm not sure if Adams is the author for me. She's a great author with the banter and the quips, but I don't think that's enough to sustain me anymore.

OH MY GOD
This book was so beautiful, cute and funny! It explains panic attacks perfectly, the author was kind enough to even put a trigger warning at the beginning of the book. This book also describes love so beautifully, ive never read something like this before

Friends to Lovers, Fake Dating, Lighthearted
Rating: 4.25 Sarah Adams is known for her cute, fluffy romance books, and for the longest time this book has been one I always heard about. An NFL football player and a ballerina who were best friends since high school, but also both mutually had feelings for one another… while the other didn’t know said person felt that way about them. I was in the mood for something lighthearted and fluffy and of course, I finally got my hands on this book, and immediately liked the dynamic between Bree and Nathan. You can never go wrong with Sarah Adams books in my opinion. Sometimes I just need a fluffy, lighthearted, funny, and sweet romance, and Sarah Adams always brings that forth in her books. This book went viral when I heard it in passing on TikTok, and seeing it everywhere so I finally seized my chance, and got it! With a friends to lovers storyline and fake dating, this sounded intriguing and fun! Bree and Nathan had been best friends since high school, they had a friendship that was deep, understanding, and heartwarming. From the moment I started reading, I could see just how close Bree and Nathan were. From their Tuesday tradition, to leaving each other random voicemails, and knowing each other so much on a level no one else understood, it was great to see them together. Obviously, with Bree and Nathan having been best friends for so long, you would think that’d be the end, but nope, as it turned out, Bree and Nathan secretly had feelings for one another! Except Bree and Nathan didn’t know that the other person liked them as more than feeling so, it created a bit of miscommunication/ misunderstanding. Nonetheless, I was still on board with reading this sweet story as an NFL quarterback and a ballerina went from friends to fake dating to lovers! Just as Bree and Nathan thought they would forever remain stuck in the friend zone, with a video of Bree drunkenly spilling her feelings about Nathan going viral, it turned both Bree’s and Nathan’s world upside down. Again, most of this story had a lot of miscommunication which, I honestly believe could have been cleared up, but I can understand why both Nathan and Bree were reluctant to tell how they felt about one another. That being said, when the video of Bree drunkenly saying how she had feelings for Nathan went viral, it ended up working out in allowing Nathan and Bree to use this as an opportunity to fake date, and see the possibilities of moving from friends to lovers. Once the fake dating happened, it was the chance that Nathan was determined to take, to show Bree that they could be more. I thought it was kind of endearing seeing Nathan trying to come up with ways in showing Bree that they had potential to be more than just friends. From surprising Bree at her dance studio, to filling her apartment full of flowers with her favorite color combination, always protecting her even when she didn’t even know, and more, Nathan was the best “fake” boyfriend ever! Honestly, the way Nathan was with Bree was so sweet, heartwarming, endearing, and just the right amount of romantic that made me giddy for Bree. Overall, this was really such a cute, sweet, and lighthearted story. I got what I wanted, and I really loved the friends to lovers trope in this book. Although, if you’re not a fan of the miscommunication trope, you might not enjoy this book as much. Not going to lie, I feel like if Bree and Nathan had just openly talked about their feelings a long time ago, they would have been happily together since the beginning, but for the sake of the storyline, I can somewhat understand the reasoning why it was written that way. Plus, with Nathan and Bree actively trying to hide their feelings from one another, it just made it seem like they didn’t like each other in a romantic ergo the misunderstanding. I will say that I really enjoyed the romance that Bree and Nathan had, but more so their friendship together was so heartwarming and loving. The foundation for Bree and Nathan’s romance was their friendship at its core and highlighted how in sync they were together. I liked how the ending of the story came together and oh my goodness the ending was just full of love, romance, and Nathan once again proving he was such a romantic when it came to Bree! A fluffy, endearing story that I really enjoyed!

A fun read!
I really enjoyed the characters and the humor, and the great storytelling. I laughed out loud, felt concern, and hoped for a happy ending and was greatly rewarded. I will be passing this book on to my daughter without blushing.
