Cooking Explained
This is a great cookbook particularly for people like me, beginning cooks. So often recipes tell you to do something but never explain why. Mr. Alt uses his background in science to explain why certain techniques are used in the kitchen and how to prepare for. He also does a great job in making recommendations for cooking equipment and stocking a kitchen that’s ready to really cook. This is a great book with great recipes.
