The Hating Game By Sally Thorne
Product details

The beginning is exhausting reading in length and detail about how much she hates this man. It’s a little too much which leaves you disinterested initially. Lucy is annoyingly insecure and immature. If you stick with it, there are some interesting turns but overall, a pretty dry plot.

Favorite book ever
I normally read romance and horror. The romance I normally read has trigger warnings. This book is nothing like that but is is absolutely my favorite romance of all time. I just finished reading it for the seventh time. I have never read a book more than once. The characters are amazing and I fell in love with both protagonists. The banter and wit is on point. It’s absolutely beautiful. The only romance author that comes close to this book in my opinion is Mariana zapata. And this far exceeds any of those books. It’s almost a shame because every romance I read, I now compare to this book. The movie was unfortunately trash but the book is perfection.

Enemies to lovers
This was my first enemies to lovers book and it has made me a fan of that trope. Gave me all the good feels and I love the epilogue. The paint ball scene is amazing.

5/5 - A new favorite!
Oh my god...where was I when this book was released? I am usually a dark, erotic romance reader, and I don't know what led me to pick up this book at the store but I am so glad I did. This was my first read by Sally Thorne, and I must say her banter and dialogue between the two main characters is unmatched by any other author I've read. Lucy and Josh are some of the wittiest characters I've read, and I think that's why I enjoyed the story so much. This slow burn, enemies to lovers hit me right in the feels at so many points during the story, and when they finally realized what they meant to the other, it was soft yet spicy enough to leave me drooling. I want a Josh of my own in real life, both physically and emotionally, with both his flaws and perfections. He is possessive and demanding in just the way you'd want from a book-boyfriend, which is what he is to me now. Thorne wrote such a hard yet passionate character and I'm selfish and want more of them together. And I can't forget about Lucy. She embodies a lot of relatable qualities, at least to me personally, and her outward fearlessness paired with her genuine internal struggles when it came to Josh, but also life in general, created the perfect FMC to go up against the MMC. I felt to many things during this read - I smiled, swooned, and sighed. The built up tension between them was so tangible and easily became a guilty pleasure, from "The Staring Game" to the "Or Something Game." God - I just love these two. I desperately hope that one day we get an extended ending or an epilogue of sorts for Lucy and Josh. I want more of them and need more of their banter back and forth. I also need to know who got the job!!!! AHH! I just loved this story, and I can't wait to read more from Sally Thorne!

Awful
If you don't mind reading 'fat little dick' constantly, then this book is for you. After reading for an hour, I deleted it from my Nook.

Entertaining book
This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, clever and held my interest. I wanted to find out what was going to happen. I enjoyed this book and will look for others by this author.

A fun and hooking read
I saw this book on TikTok and it looked like a good read. The book with the enemies to lovers theme is so exhilarating and once you pick it up it's almost impossible to put down. The nearly childlike games between the two main characters gives you a smile. Definitely worth buying.

Fine but not Great
This book took me forever and a day to listen to (thanks Libby). But also there was nothing that was making me want to read it or making me want to finish. It was cute, I enjoyed the main character’s bickering but there’s nothing incredible about it. Will I watch the movie? Probably. Will I run to watch the movie? Nope. It won’t change your life, it’s not a bad book, it’ll entertain you, but I wouldn’t suggest you drop everything to read it.
