The characters I found interesting were Doug and Heather. The rest of the characters were ok. The setting and story were good though. The different POV chapters and pacing was okay. An interesting read.

The Hunting Party (thoughts)
4.5 stars The Hunting Party turned out to be the perfect way to start my reading year off. I didn't realize when I originally picked this one up that it is set around New Year. I just wanted a wintry, suspenseful read which is exactly what I got. It was an added bonus that I read this one around the same time of year that the book is set. Although it took me a few chapters to really wrap my mind around who was who, once I got going I was well and truly hooked. I had planned to take my time with this book and just soak up the winter vibes - instead I found myself plowing through the pages unwilling to set it down. I really liked that the author was able to make me suspect almost all of the characters at one point or another. At this point, Lucy Foley has become a must read author for me. I've read three of her books (and am really excited for her upcoming book) and have enjoyed them all. I think my favorite is still The Guest List, then The Hunting Party, and finally The Paris Apartment if you were curious. She is definitely an author I recommend and this book is the perfect read for the winter! Readers who enjoy dark, suspenseful reads and are looking for a snowy, atmospheric setting should pick this book up. It's so good! 4.5 stars CW - Infertility, cheating, grief

QUICK READ
I love Lucy Foley but this one missed the mark for me. I enjoyed the story, but the characters were uh something. I did not feel as much suspense and stress while reading this book as I did while reading The Paris Apartment or The Guest List. I still recommend it as a quick read, but it is not a must read for me.

Regret
The book is really hard to follow along when the point of Few for every chapter changes. The first page catches you attention then it just drops off. The dates changes throughout the book. I have only just read the first 3 chapters but I already regret buying the book. Thankfully I can still return the book.

Fun premise but not great payoff
For 150 pages the suspense is building - everyone is suspicious and there are secrets everywhere. I almost got worn out by the intense build up and was only let down further by the twist. For all that tension, I expected the twist to have my jaw to be on the floor.

Decent - interesting setting, so-so characters
This one was just decent for me, I actually preferred The Paris Apartment to this one (favorite of Lucy Foley is The Guest List for me). The setting was interesting, and I liked the idea of a modern glass lodge. There were really only a couple interesting characters for me; Miranda, and Doug. Heather was okay too. The rest were just there. This one gave me One by One by Ruth Ware vibes, even with the differences. While still unique in its way, it just wasn't my favorite. It did feel like it dragged on a bit, probably way too much backstory/flashbacks of the character's pasts, and it felt like not much was happening in the present. The writing itself was good, but the story just seemed to go nowhere for a good portion. Still an okay book, but hoping the next Lucy Foley is better!

Falls a Bit Flat
This was a quick read. There is a lot of character development with each chapter focusing on a different character. That format alone is unique. However, much of the plot falls a bit flat for me, especially when the murderer is revealed. Overall, this was simply an average read for me but I am excited to read other books by this author.

Deliciously entertaining
I completely enjoyed reading this book. I loved how the mystery unfolded from the perspective of each character. I did not know until the end what the outcome was going to be but I loved learning all the secrets of the characters. I picked the book up every time I had some time because I couldn't wait to know what happened next.
