Don't miss this New York Times bestselling "impossible to put down" (Buzzfeed) novel with deadly stakes, thrilling twists and juicy secrets-perfect for fans of One of Us is Lying and Knives Out. Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why - or even who Tobias Hawthorne is. To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man's touch - and his love of puzzles, riddles and codes. Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a conwoman, and he's determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather's last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive. ** Avery's story.

BEST. BOOK. EVER.

I am an extreme bookworm but out of all the books I’ve read The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is the favorite!!! JLB never disappoints in any of her series, and I am counting down the days until her finish to the series The Gilded Blade (which I have ofc already preordered😊) A TRUE MASTERPIECE in the book word

A Mind-boggling Mystery

This book felt like being handed a puzzle box and being dared to open it. I loved how The Inheritance Games never let me settle-- every answer unraveling into two more questions, every smile hiding a secret. Avery's quiet resilience paired with the Hawthorne brothers' dangerous charm made the story impossible to put down. It's clever, fast-paced, and deliciously tangled, the kind of book that makes you read "just one more chapter" until the sun comes up. The scene I loved: That moment in the library, surrounded by riddles and whispered truths, when Avery realizes the game isn't just about money-- it's about why she was chosen. The shift is so subtle, yet electric. Suddenly, the inheritance isn't a gift; it's a challenge. And from that point on, neither Avery nor the reader can ever look away. -Italiana

Puzzles, Secrets, Inheritance

The Inheritance Games follows Avery Grambs, an ordinary girl who suddenly finds herself at the center of a billionaire’s will—and no one, including her, knows why. Thrown into a world of riddles, family drama, and an eccentric mansion full of secrets, Avery has to play along with the Hawthorne brothers and solve the mystery if she wants to survive and claim her inheritance. It’s the kind of story that hooks you from the first chapter and keeps you guessing the whole time. I read this book in one night—could not put it down. The puzzles were clever, the twists kept coming, and the whole vibe gave major Clue or Knives Out energy (but way more fun and teen-friendly). There’s no gore or spice, which honestly made it such a refreshing read. I bought the second book the second I finished the first because I had to know what happened next. Highly recommend if you want something quick, mysterious, and addictive.
