The Island by Natasha Preston
Hot on the heels of the New York Times bestsellers The Twin and The Lake, another pulse-pounding read from the undisputed queen of YA thrillers! They said goodbye to their friends and family for the weekend. They weren't counting on forever. Jagged Island: a private amusement park for the very rich—or the very influential. Liam, James, Will, Ava, Harper, and Paisley—social media influencers with millions of followers—have been invited for an exclusive weekend before the park opens. They'll make posts and videos for their channels and report every second of their VIP treatment. When the teens arrive, they're stunned: the resort is even better than they'd imagined. Their hotel rooms are unreal, the park's themed rides are incredible, and the island is hauntingly beautiful. They're given a jam-packed itinerary for the weekend. But soon they'll discover that something's missing from their schedule: getting off the island alive.

An amazing book
For this book u have to be in the mood or it won't feel right. The island is an fast passed mystery thriller 😳 I liked the character at best but the twists in the book made it so much better. I actually love that the main character dies at the end because I was reutting for her to survive and I didnt expect her to die. Warning ⚠️ has a lot of blood and gure

I Expected More…
UGH. I’m so disappointed with this novel. This is one of my always-buy authors. This story just didn’t cut it for me. I’m not sure if it’s because I read a similar novel a few weeks ago and I’m mentally comparing the two. Is it because Preston released multiple books this year and the stories were rushed to be finished? The whole novel feels underdeveloped. The characters are mid at best, missing important key details to make their depth really stick for the story. The plot feels kind of stagnant. There’s continuity issues (i.e. Reece has a juvie record but it wasn’t expunged after he turned 18?). It was very underwhelming from what I remember with the last two books I read!😩 Overall, 3/5. It’s still a good book for anyone who wants a thriller to pass the time, but it’s nothing I’ll be obsessing over for the next few weeks.

To many Gd
If your a Christian like me that loves mystery and thriller books don't read I had to stop reading because of all the God name in vain. I have read many books in this genre that had no Gd in it and they were great books. Jhon 3:16

Enjoyable page-turner
Enjoyable page-turner. Quick read, twists & turns, and a trope of a plot, in which the visiting guests to a private island begin disappearing one-by-one. A little more YA for me than my normal tastes, but I it was a fun read. Solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Crazy Ending!
I personally loved it. I was really engaged in the story, but it had the kind of ending that would give you the urge to throw the book as far away as possible. Of course... I would have done that, but it was 1 AM and I didn't want to wake everyone up.

Thrilling!
Thanks Netgalley and Delacorte Press for this eARC, these opinions are my own. Th Island was definitely a thrill ride! Paisley is one of six social media influencers chosen to go to a remote Island Amusement Park and promote it so that the owner can get more people to come. When the arrive the island is designed in gothic architecture, it’s creepy, but perfect for the followers of Paisley’s crime podcast. What starts off great turns dangerous when people start disappearing and someone is found dead. There’s only eleven people on the Island, who’s doing it? Can Paisley survive? The setting was perfect for this kind of book and as a reader I could feel the tension that being on this island would create, so many places to hide! There were twists and turns and parts I didn’t see coming. I had some idea of at least part early on but as with all mysteries I second guessed myself and I couldn’t have predicted the whole thing! The ending was definitely more cliffhangery then I like but it also works pretty well for this book so I couldn’t be to mad about it! This is a great read if you enjoy fast paced, tense, mysteries! Can’t wait to read it again when it comes out!
