Won't make Stitches

This little sewing machine has parts that are hard for an adult to open or remove. A child could not even change the thread. The machine will not make any stitches. It turns on and acts like it's sewing but, it is not doing anything. Have read and followed the instructions but it still will not sew as described. Unfortunately this was a Christmas present so the box is gone now and I can't return it. Would not buy again or recommend this product.
