The Mamba Mentality- How I Play by Kobe Bryant
Product Details
Web ID: 6766710Epic! Tough to put down!
Just as Kobe's game is very reminiscent of MJ's, this book is reminiscent of For the Love of the Game: My Story where MJ is sharing his thoughts about the game amidst beautiful and captivating images. This book allows you to peek into the process of how Kobe prepared and how he viewed the game, his opponents, his teammates and his life. It was very revealing and tough to put down! It also has some great lessons for life, as you can apply a lot of his mental approach and work ethic to your life to be better. This is one of those books that I will definitely take back out and re-read from time to time and it's worth having on your shelf even if you are not a big Kobe Bryant fan. Highly recommend!!

Motivational
This book is the greatest motivational book that I have read. Most motivational books are boring with page after page of details that may have helped a person, but are not applicable to the ordinary person. Kobe was great and born with talent that the ordinary do not have; however, in this book, he shared things that to me can impact the ordinary like me. The design of this book with lots of pictures makes people think of it as a picture book; however, on each page are words (i.e. I asked a ton of questions) in large text to draw the reader in. Then this is followed by a few paragraphs to concisely pull the reader in as to how Kobe thought about and did things "mentally". Colorful pictures linked to fitting captions which lead to interesting techniques that motivate people like me. Partly due to his death, the book has been a bestseller; however, even if someone does not like to read a lot, this book with a simple design will motivate people. On Amazon this book has a 4.9 overall rating, and on this Barnes and Noble site, the book is given an overall rating of 4.6.

Good Book
I read this book for my AP lang class. I got to say this book is a quick and interesting read. The basis of the book is Kobe Bryant’s day-to-day routine, how he gets ready for a game, and his mindset about life. There is a lot of pictures in the book, so you have a better idea of what he is talking about. Besides the pictures, the memoir doesn’t do anything outside of the box. The book has a lot of common elements to other books, but they execute these aspects well. I would recommend this book to somebody else but not just to anyone. In order to read this book, you would have to have a small amount of NBA knowledge to know who Kobe is talking about in certain situations. For example, He would talk about his struggles about guarding some players like Allen Iverson and you wouldn’t get the same reaction unless you know who some of these people are. The book has less than 300 pages so it’s a very quick read. Each page got a different story on it. For example, one page would be a story about him getting injured and the next would be a story of his recovery. Like I said, Overall this book is a very good read for people that are interested in this type of thing.

Not too bad
I ordered this online thinking it would be a better read. More like a picture book with captions than anything. Still interesting and I enjoyed it but was a little disappointed. I'd recommend for a Kobe or Lakers fan just to see the pictures and perspective writing.
