"I'm a dead woman, or I shall be soon . . . "Hercule Poirot's quiet supper in a London coffeehouse is interrupted when a young woman confides to him that she is about to be murdered. Though terrified, she begs Poirot not to find and punish her killer. Once she is dead, she insists, justice will have been done. Later that night, Poirot learns that three guests at a London Hotel have been murdered, and a monogrammed cufflink has been placed in each one's mouth. Could there be a connection with the frightened woman? While Poirot struggles to put together the bizarre pieces of the puzzle, the murderer prepares another hotel bedroom for a fourth victim.

Awesome book!

I was a little wary of this book at first, but I kept an open mind and read it and... it was fantastic! I couldn't put it down! The plot was tricky and there were a good amount of red herrings; just like something Christie would write herself. Poirot was very similar to Christie's and while I do miss Captain Hastings, Poirot's new sidekick, Inspector Catchpool is just as endearing. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Worth a look

I began reading this book with a bit of worry. I"m a huge Agatha Christie fan. How on earth could someone else write a Poirot book? I almost decided not to read it. But, I pressed on and DID read it. Wow, what a surprise! It was actually a very good book. Very much in keeping with Agatha Christie's Poirot. The mystery itself was a wily one. Full of twists and red herrings. It did seem to drag at times, I feel the story could have been wrapped up sooner. All in all, though, it was a good story. Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book just wasn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t connect with or enjoy the characters and The plot was lacking for me.
