No elastic
These are a reasonably cozy lounge-around-a-cool-house pair of pants. But I would have really liked an elastic waistband. The only thing holding them up is the built-in belt to tighten/loosen the waist. I found myself having to loosen it whenever I sat down and then tighten it whenever walking around. Not the end of the world, but a constant annoyance that gets increasingly annoying with each repetition. Just a very disappointing choice for what would otherwise be a pair of comfy lounging pants.

Solid insulation
I wear these under my ski pants. They're great. Nice fit. The pockets are nice - and useful if wearing the pants around the house. The waist adjustment works fine. Over the course of a season, they've held up well to wearing and washings.

I should've gotten these sooner!
These are my first pants ever owning something like this and I must say, I do not regret buying them. I asked myself "Why didn't I get them sooner." It's actually been cold here in Northern California lately and these come in handy. On my days off I wear them around the house and for running errands. The fit fits me perfect. I like everything about them. The pockets on each side on the thigh come in handy.
