Avoid!

If you're looking for a pair of shoes to roll your ankles in, then look no further! Not good for any semi-technical or hilly trails. I'll keep these for flat trails and gravel roads, nothing else.

Excellent trail shoe !

Just picked up my 5th pair of TNF Altamesa 500. Great trail shoe with cushion and stability. Forefoot lugs are 4 mm. It would be nice if they had 5 mm forefoot lugs for increased traction. It has just been a good fit on all trail conditions.

I just ordered my second pair!

These are extremely comfortable and they provide the support I like and need in a sneaker. I can't say enough about how comfortable these are.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I purchased the Grayish Altamesa 500, trusting North Face’s bold claims that it was a highly cushioned, stable performance trail shoe—engineered specifically for rugged, uneven terrain; so I expected nothing less than exceptional quality—especially at the price point. Unfortunately, what I received was shockingly subpar. After only my second short hike, the sole began to separate & detach entirely, making the shoes completely unusable. This kind of premature failure is simply unacceptable & it falls far below the standard I’ve come to expect from a brand of North Face’s reputation. It’s not just disappointing—it’s infuriating. For a company that markets itself on durability & performance, this product felt cheap, poorly constructed & unworthy of the premium cost. As a long-time customer who has trusted your gear for years, this experience has left me extremely dissatisfied and questioning whether I can rely on North Face products in the future. I do NOT recommend this shoe at all !!!

This is my everyday shoe!

I started running gravel trails and road with this shoe. It's now my favourite everyday wear shoe. 10/10 would buy it again!

Better than Hoka

I love this shoe. Fits so good out of box and is very protective. Perfect for hiking and trail running.
