Handle Broke - Warranty denied

I used this bag sparingly over the last few years. On an overseas trip, the internal plastic part in the telescoping handle broke and the handle came off. Real bummer for the rest of the trip. North Face denied the warranty claim although it was not abused. Beware.

Bought 1 Year ago and still going strong

The only downside to this bag is it's weight. Other than that it hit all my requirements (durable wheel system, water proof (for luggage), good zippers, rugged look, and compression straps.

Rolling Thunder Review

Worked great for a hiking photo trip with family. Held clothes, hiking pack, shoes, etc. No issues on Southwest Airlines for checked luggage

I would not buy it again

I own three of these. They are well made but heavy and the bags weight is about 22 percent of the allowed baggage allowance of 50lbs per checked bag that most airlines follow. A buckle on one of my bags broke on its first airline trip. North Face customer service said North Face do not stock buckles and I would have to ship it to a repair centre. At the repair centre I was told they don't have the buckles and they can't get them from North Face. The repair centre would source new buckles and change the straps...what a waste of time and effort when the broken buckle can be slid off the strap to be replaced. Unfortunately, North Face doesn't stock it and the customer suffers. Terrible service and poor support for a new product. So much for being green and reducing pollution and carbon footprints North Face.

It's a beast of bag but took care of me like a loving friend

Stewed over buying this big a bag for a recent ski trip to Japan. I have many other large base camp duffles but none with wheels. I was traveling with the fast pack and time is of the essence. No waiting around to should a heavy duffle. I don't buy stuff that I wont use more than once, so it was a big decision for me. Look at other wheels options of similar size and decided on the TNF Rolling Thunder. I was not disappointed. It fit my ski boots, helmet, snow boots, crocks and a bunch of other crap I normally would not take on a mission. Organization was exceptional, and most of all the zippers worked flawlessly under load. I am a stickler for zippers and the size and the large pulls made it easy to round corners with the zippers under tension. Love the load handles and compression straps and could throw it around like a baby Yoda when needed.

What a beast

Fits so much more than a normal hard luggage, but protects your stuff just as well. As a strength athlete this bag is perfect to fit everything I need for competitions.
