Had Since Fourth Grade - Now a Freshman In COLLEGE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this consistently for sports, dance, and school every year for 10 years. This thing holds up.

    Great backpack

Purchased for my daughter for back to school. Stylish backpack holds everything, is well constructed and includes a padded pocket to protect her laptop. Perfect backpack for my middle school aged girl.

    Lasted 3 months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Recon backpack for my son for 7th grade. It lasted about 3 months, but then the strap completely tore off. Tried to get it repaired by North Face since they say they have a 1-year warranty. However, the fine print is North Face doesn't provided shipping nor do they provided return tracking numbers. Everything is based on printing a form and you may or may not get the item repaired. Bottom line is this backpack most likely won't last a year for anyone and North Face won't stand behind the product, so I don't recommend this one.

Used as a school backpack - does the job

I've had this backpack for over a year now. Definitely not waterproof and smaller in size but it's been adaptive to many parts of my life and intuitive in use.

I used this bag for school and overall it's a fantastic bag lasted me for almost two years and is super great, but is VERY small on the inside. I can barley fit two binders in here, I can't fit a lunch or anything, I do not recommend this bag if you are planning to use it for school. ALSO when full looks very funky.

    strap broke after one month!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the reviewer above me, my strap broke, but only after a month! I was on my way to work with a laptop, cell phone and not much else and it just broke. I thought North face products were reliable, but this is very disappointing. And since I didnt' buy it at north face I can't bring it back to a north face store to have it serviced. Instead I have to ship it back at my expense.
