A collection of stories that kept me wanting more. Luc Moncrief was a fun main character with all of his over the top ideas and shopping habits. The progression of the relationship between Luc and KBurke was great. The way that they solve the mysteries together was interesting since they both had different perspectives. I hope that there will be future books with these characters.

Mediocre...Not My Favorite Patterson
This definitely was not my favorite Patterson book(s)/series! I can't say that I felt horribly bored by the books, but I can say that I wasn't horribly excited while listening to them either! Detective Luc Moncrief was definitely an interesting character! A very handsome, very charming, and very rich British detective in the States, working as a legitimate detective! It drove me crazy, especially by the end of book 3 that neither Lucrief nor his partner, Detective Katherine Burke, thought of each other as more than friends and work partners, when they were both very clearly in love with each other! I honestly can't even say if I preferred one book over the other in this three-part series. The Paris Detective basically combines all three books of the Detective Luc Moncrief series written by James Patterson and Richard DiLallo. It is narrated by Jean Brassard, which I think did a pretty good job, although I could have swore Book 3 had a different narrator because he sounded so different. It seemed like the British accent got much lighter with each book, which may have been the purpose since after each book Moncrief had been living in American longer...who knows! Overall, I feel very mediocre about this book (or should I say these books!). I would probably still get another Moncrief book, should the authors decide to write another, but it wouldn't be bumped to the top of my TBR list!

Interesting cases, but better as an audio
(3.5 stars) Seeing the title, THE PARIS DETECTIVE, I was immediately intrigued. This is actually three cases (books) by James Patterson and Richard DiLallo. I’ll break it down by the book: THE FRENCH KISS: It was interesting and drew me in quite quickly. I found that I liked Luc’s approach to being a detective right away. I think it’s because I have a fondness for all things French. It’s a good introduction to the detective, mood, and series. A CHRISTMAS MYSTERY: In this one, we got a lot more of K. Burke, Luc’s new partner, and how they work together. I like their partnership. This had a lot more Parisian influences in it, which I enjoyed. FRENCH TWIST: This was my least favorite of the mysteries due to the animal death, but that is a personal preference. Overall, I felt the other two were more compelling, but I liked that I knew detectives better by now and their quirks. I like Detective Luc Moncrief. I’m not sure if it’s because he’s a Parisian living in NYC - two of my favorite things - but I found this interesting. This was a far better audiobook for me because I enjoyed the narrator’s accent, Jean Brassard, than if I had read it. It enhanced it. If you like rogue police work, it’s a fun listen! I hope the series continues! Content Warnings: familial death, animal death Follow me on instagram: @niftyreads

Just finished reading - not complete page turner
All three stories were readable. The best one, in my impression, is the French Twist. My problem tho, is how an emerald ring became a necklace??? Also, in my imagination while reading all the stories , the Paris Detective immediately became " Hercule Poirot". I really enjoyed the stories!
