Amazing book!!

I got to read this book, and I was honestly amazed at how in-depth it goes more towards the ending. Overall, the book was definitely easy to read as I need an audiobook to play while reading. I honestly thought that the first half of the book was really just getting into the hotel and seeing all the paranormal stuff that goes on and just watching Jack go mad. I would 1000% recommend this book to other people, this is honestly one of my favorite authors to read off of. I honestly really enjoyed reading the book, if you are wanting to read it I would recommend it to you a thousand percent. It is a little long but over all worth it at the end. Since it is so so so good.

Do not purchase this if you are looking for the cover art shown in the picture. I ordered it and they sent me a copy with a completely different cover.

Book is amazing!

“The Shining by Stephen King is a masterpiece that dives into the psyche of a family grappling with supernatural forces and internal demons. As Jack becomes the caretaker of the hotel for the winter, its evil influence begins to unravel his sanity causing him to go mad. Stephen King masterfully builds tension through atmospheric descriptions and psychological depth, making the characters disturbingly relatable as they confront their fears and vulnerabilities, especially Danny. With its themes of addiction, and isolation, “The Shining” is a masterpiece that continues to captivate audiences even years after its original release. I personally haven't even finished the book, but would easily rate the book a 5 out of 5. The one issue that is apparent in my eyes is that in the beginning of the book, when they don’t go to the hotel yet, it is slightly dragged out. Though it’s used to show the family’s life before going to the hotel.

Really great novel, couldn't stop reading!

I have been reading all of the King's horror novels and stories and thought this novel was one of the best, it was a perfect tie of suspense with horror and a little bit of psychology. I am a massive fan of horror; if you are too, this book is for you. It also is way different than the movie and in my opinion, the ending was more horrific and suspenseful. Overall the book was super great and very entertaining to read and I would highly recommend it to others to read.

Good Read but a little long

A long, leisurely buildup is used to inculcate in his readers the sense of a disarmingly normal human situation, during which time, with the exception of an occasional foreshadowing, little is done to suggest the nature of the horrors to come.

My opinion

My opinion on the Shining by Stephen king it is a good the reason why it has had a great plot device that makes the story very interested to read. Like in the novel the hotel has power over people humanity, emotions, and action to make the character act the way they do, for example what triggers the hotel power is a scrapbook, it influences the character Jack to act unusual then before. Me personally I have enjoyed reading this novel it started off ominous and the buildup had me as the reader to continue to keep reading through the chapter. It had more detailed information not only about the hotel itself but each individual main character that the author gave to show how they feel and the action they give a better understanding for me to connect the story pieces together. Plus, I have learned that the hotel can be dangerous in its own way like the room 217, which causes the most perplexing and suspicious that makes my mood eerie and chilling. Also, Jack problems were interesting to learned about him losing his job due to his mental issue and Danny was a character from the start was frighted and easily week but as the story goes on, the overcome the hotel fear and sticking up for himself from letting anyone or thing gets in the way. Not only the characters and the place that I was enjoyed about, but it was the imagery and allegory what made the story entrancing by the fact that it talks about the harsh past life that the character experience, while I have picturing in my head but in some parts of the story there will be meanings that also helps me picture important events in the story. I want to say Stephen king is an excellent writer and creating a real location place and turning it into half fantasy and half real facts makes novel appealing to read. In my feeling I would recommend this book to people that are more into horror or someone that enjoy trying something new, for me it really had me entertain and loving horror or mystery books that keep my mind going and when I recommend this book to someone, I hope they feel entertain and enjoy horror. Overall, hand down, the book was fantastic to read
