This is the truth of you. Because you are all I see.Because you are all I breathe.Because when I cannot find you, I am lost. Because when I'm with you, I am found. Because you have the fire of the universe in you, and sometimes you forget. So this book is here to remind you. Dear You, I want you to know that I see you. I want you to know that even if no one else does, even if you are a ghost in this bookshop, or just the static floating across the screen of your computer, wherever you're reading this, I see you. I see you in the dark and I see you in the gray. I see you as a story, as words I have spoken or may yet speak. Maybe only in a memory or a dream. I see your hands and your arms and your body and your legs and your face and I see what you have been and what you will be. I see you and in looking at you, I want you to know that whoever you've had to be to survive all this, I will not look away. I want you to know that there's a space inside this book for you. So if you have the time and the inclination, you can sit here with me, just for a while. And perhaps between us, we can see everything that matters. -please find this.

An Emotional Reading Experience

I am a big fan of Iain S. Thomas, and this collection of poems is just as beautiful as his other books. The pages may look minimal and simply written, but he has a magical way of having you connect on a personal level with every one of his poems, and the illustrations are always a lovely touch.

Beautiful and Earnest Poetry Collection

A beautiful, earnest poetry collection about our vulnerabilities and relationships. I especially adored the poems ruminating on love and loss. The collection is well narrated by the author, Iain S. Thomas. Overall, a wonderful volume of poetry. Thank you Andrews McMeel Audio and NetGalley for providing this ebook and audiobook ARC.

amazing breath of language

The audible version is read with an Australian accent. Making the poems full of light and mystic. The poems are thought provoking, telling about love, life, friendship, how we must look at the world. In the audio the transcendence of meditative music add to the need and desires in the stories. I had to reach out and get the print version of the book, only to see the divisions of the poems, since they seem to go as a transcendent thought a conversation between and elder and and younger. Between the poet, and the audience teaching, empowering and belonging. The inspiring words are something you could grow with. I could see children listening to this or having each of them read the poems aloud to each other, with thousand moments of inspiration to look not only in your self but beyond to the things that make life worthwhile.

Great Poetry!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! "The Truth of You" is a beautiful poetry collection whose words express the love and sadness we all experience at some point in our lives. It would be hard to read through this selection and not feel some kind of connection to the words on the page. I'm sure most readers will be able to relate to many of the poems in this book. Thomas does an excellent job writing about happiness, loneliness, grief, and love. Though not all of the works are attention grabbers, the book certainly does its job of making the reader reflect on themselves and their own feelings.

Amazing

Iain is a master of poetry! He writes poems that not only are relatable but will motivate you, remind you why we are alive, they pull on your heart strings and even give you motivation to keep going. The art in between pages adds a classical touch to the book. The word choices for each poem bring the poems to life making this book of poetry enjoyable. I absolutely love this book.!
