The enchanting and bloodthirsty sequel to the New York Times bestselling novel The Cruel Prince - now in paperback! You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring. The first lesson is to make yourself strong. After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished. When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

So good!

This series is amazing!! If you love whimsical fantasy faerie vibes, this one’s 100% for you. I will admit, the first little bit is kinda slow, but it gets so good I promise. By the second half I couldn’t put it down. And the plot twists are crazy, made me dying for the next book. The romance between Cardan and Jude is mwah, chefs kiss. The chemistry is amazing and can I like, somehow get a Cardan? Please? Anyways, fantasy lovers, this needs to go on the top of your tbr. And if you don’t like it, I respect your very wrong opinion.

Loved it!

wow.. this is really good. The Wicked King is political fantasy with romance, but the romance is not the main plotline. Folk of the Air is a slow burn fantasy series, and I recommend reading it. I really like Jude. She is strong, ambitious, and not afraid to take what she wants, even if it means murdering a few people along the way. I like that there's tension between Cardan and Jude but it doesn't overshadow the story or the court/political drama. There is only one sex scene, and it is mild, what I consider close door, so if you don't like romance, you can still enjoy this book. The plot twists are good, and the ending was jaw dropping. Like, I did not see that coming. 5/5 stars Read if you like: Slow burn Court politics Strong fmc

Wonderful

One of my best friends had recommended the Folk of Air series to me as a way to help me get back into reading, and it was a phenomenal series to do so. Jude and Cardan quickly became some of my favorite characters in media in recent times. Highly recommend!

This is a good and slightly unpredictable continuation of the Folk of the Air series. The tale of Jude and her time in the High King’s court, and the things she did while there; or the things done to her; follow a fascinating story arch. I was able to get lost in the story unfolding and was surprised by the last few events that took place. Ready to start book 3!
