2016 Goodreads Choice Award-winning poet Amanda Lovelace returns in the witch doesn't burn in this one the bold second book in her "women are some kind of magic" series. The witch- supernaturally powerful, inscrutably independent, and nowindestructible. These moving, relatable poems encourage resilience and embolden women to take control of their own stories. Enemies try to judge, oppress, and marginalize her, but the witch doesn't burn in this one.

    Incredible.

I’ve only read the first “chapter” and I can already tell this book is worth it and amazing.

This book is worth your time

I got this book from my mom on my birthday, it took me a month to find time to read but I finished it tonight and it was worth every moment. Each poem has a way of capturing, inspiring, and speaking such truth it takes my breath away. This book left me feeling empowered and emotional. Amanda Lovelace, this is beautiful.

    It gets political.

Some of the poems are beautifully written but most were dry and immature. I also would have liked it to get lost in a book where the author doesn’t shows her political views. That turned me away from reading any more of her books.
