A repackaged edition of the revered author's retelling of the myth of Cupid and Psyche-what he and many others regard as his best novel.C. S. Lewis-the great British writer, scholar, lay theologian, broadcaster, Christian apologist, and bestselling author of Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, The Chronicles of Narnia, and many other beloved classics-brilliantly reimagines the story of Cupid and Psyche. Told from the viewpoint of Psyche's sister, Orual, Till We Have Faces is a brilliant examination of envy, betrayal, loss, blame, grief, guilt, and conversion. Loved it

I’m really into mythological retellings and to be honest a lot of writers get way to into the sexual nature of the myth that it loses the power of a depth to the lessons that the original stories truly hold. Such a good read. This is extremely well written as far as imagery and feelings. Also from a unique perspective and about a very rarely discussed mythological couple (at-least that I’ve read this far). I was blown away, as I was completely unaware of c.s.Lewis venturing into this genre.

SUCH A GOOD BOOK

Aw man. This book is one of those rare treasures that immediately after you finish you want to go back and reread it all over again. Lewis retells the story of Cupid and Psyche, such a interesting blend of mythology, theology, and philosophy. Surprisingly very readable. You'll be thinking about it long after you've finished and you'll want everyone you know to read it too!

When you hear 1 side of a story,do you wonder?

This is the retelling of the story of Cupid and Psyche, a story I never read and didn't need to know to appreciate this book.  It is set in an ancient kingdom surrounded by rival nations. It is the story of two daughters of the king, told, for the first part of the book, from the point of view of the eldest daughter.  As the story progresses, the reader is also allowed to hear the opinions of others on what is happening.  Behind the wars, famines, and struggles for power, it is about personal biases and differing veiws of the same relationships between people and nations.
