(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It was a great decision for Timex to pull inspiration from their heritage. Paying homage to its history, the Waterbury Traditional Automatic harkens back to a different age with very traditional looks, but at a modern 39mm size and 11.5mm thick, eminently wearable by today's standards
Sporting the their iconic Waterbury Company logo from 1854, the dial is vertical brushed metal with polished appliqué markers, and matching lume filled baton style hands. Additional detail can be seen as engraved concentric circles run through the minute track. And to give the dial a pop of color, the seconds hand is dark green, and Sundays are marked in red from the bilingual day-date complication
The stainless steel case has a mixture of fine brushed and polished finishes, giving it visual interest as the light plays across the watch surface. And paired with Waterbury Traditional can easily be a sophisticated looking dress piece.
Overall, the Waterbury is a great watch, ideal for anyone starting out in their watch collecting journey, or for those wanting a piece of history. Well done, Timex!
