Tom Ford's Beau de Jour EDP is worth your time for checking it out. Excellent longevity, good projection & quality materials. Myself, I get anise in the opening, along with a smooth lavender that's not overly herbal nor dry. Don't worry when you hear patchily, for it's not the oily dank variety. Instead, it's a base that all the herbs and spices sit upon and which contributes much to the evolvement of the perfume. The woodiness isn't like the kind you get in most designers. Its main role is in the very far dry down in which is well blended and mixes with the patchouli to give you an almost frosty woods as you get in Ursa or Straight to Heaven, at least to my nose. The amber's role adds a slight creaminess to it. It's not sharp, like some dry aromatics, but the opening is a bit strong and that does settle into a very wonderful barbershop Fougere. Great job Tom Ford.

This is an amazing barbershop style fragrance with incredible longevity. If you like this style of fragrance, it is a must buy.

Pure class even thought it is a little lighter than its predecessor private blend. I disagree with the first review that mentioned "people coughed around me" may be those people that caughed are used AXE body deodorant and never experienced high quality complex perfumes lol. Great Job Tom Ford and keep up the awesome art!!!

This fragrance has such a beautiful opening and that silage and projection perfect . It will grab attention and not too much for the office .
