They don't make them like they used to

I bought this to replace a Totes umbrella that lasted 12 years. This was lasted about 1 year before having mechanical issues. So sad, I'll never buy Totes again.

Will always buy totes umbrella

Best umbrella on the market. I usually only need to purchase another if I lose it. My umbrella has stood up to torrential rain, high winds, and thunderstorms.

Good unbrella BUT...

The Totes umbrellas are very durable and withstand heavy rain. My problem is that after sometime the rubber handles become sticky and make the umbrella unusable. Would be nice if Totes offered the option of wooden handle for all their umbrellas. I have 4 umbrellas that are unusable after paying $28 to $40 per umbrella. I would rather buy a cheap Japanese umbrella which I don't mind throwing away after one season.

This isn't your father's Totes

The umbrella broke after less than 6 months of use. Metal hinges appear the be very cheap. I've owned many Totes umbrellas in the past. I've never had one fail until now.

Would not buy this product again

I bought this product specifically for it's durability and construction and figured the extra money would bring me a product that would last me for year. Got caught in a thunder storm, the wind blew it inside out and snapped the cross members rendering the umbrella useless after 3 uses.
