nice but smelly

I love this bag. It's made well and fits everything that I need. Best of all it takes the weight off my shoulder because it's a cross body bag. my reason for the 3 stars is the smell of the bag. it has that basement smell when I open it. I'm hoping the smell goes away.

Aweful smell

It smells like an old musty/chemical treated army canvas tent. I tried leaving it outside in the sun for a couple of days, I soaked it in frebreeze, nothing I tried eliminated the smell. It was so strong I could smell it sitting in the car and the bag was on the floor. It is not a subtle smell that you need to put your nose into it, you can smell it several feet away. I love the look, but cant get past the smell.

SMELLED AWFUL.

Purchased to replace a Vera Bradley sling bag I've had for a few years. This was not quite as big as I had hoped it would be, but the quality seemed fine. I could have probably lived with the size, but what prompted the return was the awful, overwhelming smell of MILDEW. Apparently this is an issue, as this came packed with an 'anti-mildew sticker', something I had never seen before, but which clearly did not work. The bag smelled so strongly, even after being boxed back up, that I had to store it in the garage until I could get it back to the shipper for return. Perhaps this was sitting in a cargo container for months and months?
