a YA classic!

I read this book in middle school, and then twice again in high school. While it is not the most poetic love story, or excellently written book, it conveys an intriguing love story for its time. In my opinion, this novel depicts a young girls choices between what is expected of her, and what she truly wants for herself. I cannot recommend this book enough for those who are into fun, retro-esque romances.

what were we all thinking

Wow, this book does not hold up. I first read Twilight at least tens years ago and while I was never under the impression it was a great literary feat, it is much worse than I remembered. What were we all thinking?!? Not only is the plot almost completely nonexistent, the dialogue is horrible. This may be one of those rare cases where the movie is actually better because book Bella has the personality of a cardboard box. Do yourself a favor and continue to live in the delusion that this was a good books. It is not, and there's no reason to suffer through it a second time. If you're feeling nostalgic for that time, save yourself a few hours and watch the movie instead.

Twilight

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer portrays a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire. It’s a young adult fantasy romance novel. The book begins by introducing Bella Swan, a 17 year old girl who’s making the move from her mom’s house in Phoenix, to her dad’s in Forks, Washington. Forks is considerably colder and rainier than Phoenix, something that she is not looking forward to. On her first day of high school at her new school, Bella immediately becomes aware of the Cullen’s, a group of kids that seem too perfect to be real. When she walks into biology she finds that one of them, Edward Cullen, will be her lab partner. All class he seemed on edge, almost as though he had a deep hate for her, even though they’d barely met. Bella becomes confused and suspicious, feelings that are furthered when he miraculously saves her from being crushed by a van in the school parking lot. A feat that would not have been possible for a normal human. After this incident, Edward seems to be okay with Bella’s presence, and actually starts talking to her. After some time the two become closer and closer, spending more time with each other. Bella starts developing feelings for Edward, and can’t stop thinking about him. Despite Edward’s best efforts he can’t seem to stay away from her either. He seems to always be near, ready to save her from anything that may happen. Although Edward knows it’s not safe and will surely lead to further problems, the two cannot help but falling in love. Twilight captured my interest from the beginning. While it may seem to move slow at first, it quickly picks up pace. By the end it’s hard to put the book down without finishing the whole thing. It’s a beautiful love story that had me on the edge of my seat. Twilight is exciting, unpredictable, and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I think others would feel the same. Once you start reading you won’t want to stop.

Amazing! Love it!

"Twilight" is a magical and gripping book that takes its readers on a thrilling path into the realm of forbidden love and paranormal beings. The story revolves around a 17-year-old girl named Bella Swan, a teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with the brooding and mysterious vampire, Edward Cullen. The author, Stephanie Meyers, uses a writing style that easily draws its readers into the story. The intense relationship between the main characters Bella and Edward is so beautifully portrayed that it leaves its readers swooning over their epic romance making the book hard to put down. While some complain that the book is filled with cliches and cringy teenage angst, Twilight has remained iconic and timeless after its long history, and in my opinion, is up there with the best books ever written.
