So, I recently purchased this online after extensively searching the bedding choices/sites of a number of stores. I just could not find a comforter with a classic but updated look that would be functional as well as bright and cheery. First thing, wait for a big sale before making a purchase. I got mine at a much better price than is currently being shown even though the item is marked as "on sale". Along with the comforter I bought two of the three coordinating pillows that were pictured with it. I thought the pillows were pricey for the size, but, again. they were on sale and I thought they completed the look. When the comforter arrived (very quickly and nicely packed) I kept looking from the picture to the actual bedding item - they did not appear similar. The background is a soft khaki and not the white that shows up in the picture. Also, the flowers are not the same hue as the photo suggests. They are very garish looking compared with the softness of the ones in the photo. When the comforter is laid out on the bed the design of these flowers - starting from the bottom of the piece only extends to just past the halfway point of the entire comforter. This is very disconcerting as one is thinking the florals cover all of the bedding's area. And, then, some of the portion that is embellished may be tucked in at the bottom further losing the look of the design. As for the pillows, they seemed smaller than those pictured. I liked the one with blue ticking, but in person did not think it was the best to match the floral. I returned both. The comforter is lightweight and is made of a pleasantly soft material. The reverse side is a stripe of red and the khaki color from the front. The shams are a match for this striped side. In addition to the color issue what ultimately caused me to send it back was the defective batting that filled the comforter. There was a hard tunnel shaped section of it, down near the bottom, that simply would not flatten. The ridge this created was driving me crazy. When I took it in to an actual store for the return, it rang up as a defective piece. Very discouraging, indeed.
