High Quality Basic

Very nice quality, was considering a cheaper option for my "basic" white plates, but when you get these you can see the difference. The inside serving area is a littllle smaller than the typical cough *american* cough dinner plate, but plenty big for a reasonably sized meal. Great basic to mix and match with other tablewear, true white with a flat rim. Added the Villeroy & Boch Amazonia salad plates for a fun little twist.

Great cup

I love the simple and elegant design of this Anmut cup. Great quality, made in German and just the right weight. It can comfortably hold 10 oz.at about 90% capacity. The color, possibly being bone china, is also close to pure white as opposed to other porcelain cups from Villeroy & Boch that tend to have a little more off-white hue. Very happy with this cup.

Villeroy & Boch Bowls

These Villeroy & Boch bowls are the perfect size to enhance my entire set of the pattern called Modern Grace. I have the oval bowls (which I love) but they are a bit too small. Although this is considered a rice bowl, it works amazingly well for soups and salads.This is the ideal size, color and thinness to enhance and complete my dishes.

has quality degraded?

I loved these when I bought a set over 10 years ago and wanted to replenish my set since a few had broken. While it might not be immediately noticeable, I can tell that that the new ones are less delicately made and are slightly thicker. I'm not sure if I should expect these to chip more easily or not, but I can tell a difference in how they are made.
