The weight is just right: not to heavy, not too light. The 11 3/4 oz is a generous size for morning coffee. And, if perchance you like to have a saucer under your mug, the Anmut Breakfast Saucer is a perfect fit.
I always loved porcelain tea cups. The paper-thin rims made for a delicate sip and it's hard to find that experience in a mug. Villeroy & Boch has pulled it off. Not as thin as the old-fashioned tea cups, but these are much thinner and lighter than the heavy ceramic mugs sold in most stores. I bought 4, then 4 more. Oh, the handle is also big and sturdy enough for the hands of elderly parents.
