Cute but runs big

I purchased this sweater in my normal size medium and it is way too big. Small would probably fit better so I suggest downsizing. I don’t like my sweaters form fitting. I decided to return the sweater and not order in a smaller size because it is too see-thru for me. I am usually warm, so I loved that the sweater was short sleeved, but I’d need to wear a camisole under it. The material looks nice, but very thin.
