Defective Product

This wine opener was purchased for a gift. The recipient could not get it to work and did not let me know out of embarrassment. He thought he just didn’t know how to work the opener. When I visited, and went to use it, it didn’t work for me either.. Ultimately it got stuck on a wine bottle and we could not get it off. I contacted Macy’s to see what could be done. Because it was past the return policy date they could not help me whatsoever.

Not easy to operate

We’ve lost 3 very nice bottles of wine trying to use this opener. We watched how-to videos before trying the second and third times and still failed to get the cork out. The screw became wedged into the cork, impossible to dislodge without splashing wine everywhere. We finally pushed the cork in (still on the screw) so that we could drain out the wine. Only then we were able to yank out the screw. User error? Maybe. Our advice is to buy some cheap bottles on which to practice using the opener.
