Quiet, but...

I've bought other Vornado products and was very satisfied. Worth every penny I paid. So, I thought this would be another fantastic purchase. Stupidly, I didn't pay attention to the excellent reviews this received, which were mostly from those who received some incentive, a mistake I won't make again. On the plus side, this unit is super quiet, including barely hearing the "glug" when it feeds itself water. Having a remote is really convenient. Filling it and cleaning it are a breeze. The minuses? The disparity between what the unit says is the humidity level, what the remote says is the humidity level, and what's actually the humidity level in the room are MILES apart. I have 2 separate hygrometers roughly 15 feet away from the humidifier on opposite sides of the unit. Those have remained roughly 1-2% difference. I've got to put the unit up to 55% in order to break 40% even though the unit says it's 55%. The remote is all over the place, so I only use it to turn the unit on or off. Pretty disappointed in this unit, especially for what it costs. I really expected more from Vornado.

Helps tame the cold dry air

I bought this a month ago and have appreciated every day of ownership. The winters tend to dry out our house. This helps keep the main living area feeling more comfortable. The nice sized tank means I don’t need to fill it multiple times a day. Happy to add another Vornado product to our home.

Smooth Operator

Very satisfied with this excellent humidifier. Easy smooth operation - runs well and quietly - easy to refill water in the tank - and easy to set your humidity levels - I have two of this model - one for Living room, one for Bedroom. A great product - highly satisfied.

Just what I needed!

Needed a large room humidifier for and open space living area. My room was about 29% humidity and needed something to help. This unit does the job. Easy to fill and lid is secure to return it to the unit. With about 2 gallons of water it can be heavy to carry. Quiet and looks great in my living room. Helps me and my plants. Both doing better.

Humidifies well. Noisy operation.

I bought the UH200 humidifier about a month ago because our 100 year old home has hot water heat (boiler) which is very efficient but also very dry. We use it in the bedroom. I find that it works fairly well. The only issue is that it makes loud “glug” “glug” noises which come from the large water tank. The noises are quite loud and wake me up. There are no leaks and no other reasons I can see for this noise. Otherwise it makes a low purring sound and makes a very fine mist which are ok. I had to stop using it. My solution is to operate the humidifier on weekends during the day when I’m off of work then turn it off when we go to bed. I might recommend the humidifier but only to a sound sleeper. Too bad about the glug glug noises. They’re so loud I can hear it when I’m downstairs in another room!

Humidifies well; tank difficult to fill

I've had several Vornado units, each of worked well for the expected lifetime, so the UH200 was a natural choice. It humidifies well, putting ~3 gallons per day into the air. It's very quiet (which is welcome). The tank design seems good, in that it has a flat surface so it supports itself during filling. The tank is easy to clean. However, removing the bottom from the tank (for filling) is quite difficult. There is an ~1/8 turn cam locking system; the cover must be fully secured before use. Removing the cover requires WAY too much torque. Anyone with wrist problems, beware!
