This is a really good book
This really is a good book, with a very ingaging plot and I ended up not being able to put it down but the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because about halfway through the book I had already guessed for the most part how it was going to end.

disappointing
I was so disappointed in this book after hearing and reading rave reviews. The ending ruined the entire book.

Beautiful story, must read!
Beautifully written! Kya’s story draws you in, you feel with her, her longing, her isolation, her hurts, her joys! I did not want the story to end! So so good!

Couldn't put it down
I had taken a hiatus from reading since having children and working. This book made me fall in love with reading again. I simply could not put it down. I do agree with one of the other reviews that the ending felt very rushed compared to the rest of the book

Captivating story
Where the Crawdads Sing is a poetically written novel that shines light on economic prejudice by unfolding layers of discrimination. Although every twist and turn seemed to leave Kya feeling abandoned, the themes of friendship and love fight to prevail during tragic events. Tate, who is an empathetic and patient friend, broke social norms to befriend Kya, a poor girl who lived alone in a shack. But, can Kya’s fear of abandonment hinder her ability to see true love? Growing from a young girl who struggled with abandonment to a young woman who searched for true love, Kya struggled to determine who to trust and who to forgive, landing herself as a prime suspect in a murder trial. Throughout Kya’s life she found friendships that were more valuable than gold, peace and tranquility in nature, and an informal education that served her well. Each page was filled with tragedy and fortune in disguise; until the end it was difficult know which would triumph!
