Using a gentle lip scrub before application removes dry skin that might otherwise cause the pigment to look uneven. 2. Hydrate Early Apply a hydrating lip balm at the start of your makeup routine and let it absorb completely. Right before applying the lipstick, blot away any excess balm with a tissue. This creates a thin protective barrier without compromising the lipstick's "grip." 3. Apply in Thin Layers Sometimes applying too much product at once can lead to cracking and dryness.
