Hard to get in the ear

What is the purpose of the ball on the end of the clasp? It hurts to get these earrings in. What a disappointment. Not worth the price, even on sale.

Disappointing Quality

My wife and I were very disappointed with this product. Initially I thought the hoop looked nice. Then she tried it on and there was a ball of gold on the end that prevented her from placing the earring through her ear. So she could not get it on. Then I looked at the piece that goes into the ear and it looked like it was gold plated solder. It was bent and looked very flimsy. I had purchased a different pair of hoops prior and they were less expensive and much better quality. I wanted the 14k gold and it was not worth it. We have returned the product.
