I should have known, based on the design, but when the ladle arrived I was still surprised at how big it is. Because of its size and shape, don't expect to be scraping the bottoms of your pots for that last ounce of deliciousness. (Instead use a serving spoon.) This ladle will work best for large quantities of stew--say, if you're cooking for large parties. As with all Rosle products, the fit and finish (and the weight of the object in your hand) is outstanding.
