The 2008 statehood quarters are richly layered with over a mil of 24 karat gold. There are five different gold-layered quarters each with the appearance of an expensive solid gold coin. The 2008 set includes the Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii statehood quarters.
