Assembly was ok. This dresser was not painted. It looks like it was just lightly whitewashed. Looks ok from across the room, but what a disappointment.

Hi Mary- Thank you for taking the time to review the Lake Avenue Bookcase. As a laminated particleboard and MDF piece, the finish depicts is a weathered, off-white woodgrain. Whitewashed is as good a description as I could offer, and although popular, it is completely understandable that you were disappointed if you were hoping for more of a brilliant white.
