Macy's discount jewel prices, but pieces are tiny

The rose vermeil finish is pretty, but the stone surround is very narrow, and frankly does not look like a 2=1/3 carat weight on the amethyst. Macy's jewels used to have bigger settings, do not think I will be ordering next Christmas, these are so tiny looks like a necklace for a small child.
