Who thought this was good idea?

Bought as a gift. Well made, double clasp, saturated amethyst color, perfect oval shape. Question, who thought stamping markdown on the tag was a good idea? If you remove tag it can’t be returned. You are forced to present, if a present, a lovely bangle emblazoned with the word “markdown.” Certainly a different presentation!
