Awesome knife for the price!

I work in a very nice restaurant and have other knives that cost much more, but ive gotta say this knife is beyond awesome for its price point. I would let other guys use this knife in the kitchen and it wound up with the nickname ""blade of Avalon"". I sold it to another cook for $50 bucks (after it had been in use for over a year) because I got it as a gift and didnt know the actual price. But if that isnt endorsing enough I dont know what is. Buy this knife now! lol

Excellent quality, at a great price

Definitely keep this in the sheath. Knife is very sharp, and maintains its edge. Wonderful addition to my collection. Makes food prep a breeze.

It's not that good

The first day that I used it, it cut things very well, after that I had to keep sharpening it to cut things. I had to buy a cheaper knife that worked longer and better. I wouldn't recommend this.

First Impressions

I am a chef with over 30 years in the business....just to inject a little of my own history. I have used Anolon knives, in the past, and though I liked them, the construction had a few flaws. One was that the knife had a full bolster, which, as the knife aged and lost some of the steel through sharpening, began to cause problems. Now, this knife doesn't have a full bolster, so one of the problems has been remedied. The knife has a good solid weight, an excellent handle for those with bigger hands, and the steel seems pretty adequate. Prepare to sharpen it soon after purchase. The factory edge is pretty weak, and will need to be professionally sharpened.
