Initial disappointment

I purchased this bag for my husband. I’ve had a BR bag for 15 years and love it. I thought putting his initials on it was a clever addition and did it. Boy was I surprised when he opened it Christmas morning and they are crooked. It looks like a three year old glued them on. I was embarrassed and still don’t know what to say? Help!
