Gift Item Destroyed

We ordered this fluid-filled, glass Galileo thermometer as a gift . The gift arrived with glass shattered and fluid gone, although you can still smell it on the box. The smaller item was shipped in a much larger box with no cushioning inside or fragile stickers. Just a handful of foam peanuts that didn't even cover a 1/2 of the bottom of the box. Very disappointed and embarrassed. Now I have to look for a replacement gift for this person.
