Beware the base

This was an emergency buy to replace a previous much needed pedestal fan which after many years finally shut down for good. The fan on this is smaller [that is on me for not measuring] and does not circulate as much as far. But again, my fault not the fan. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is the long gangling legs of the base. MAJOR TRIP HAZARD. My previous fan had a round base. You can't put this one against the wall or in a corner and wherever you put it those legs are a big problem. I need it too much to return it but buyer beware. Assembly is standard if you have assembled one of these before, but if you haven't the instructions and diagrams aren't very clear. One component screws on in a way opposite to "righty tighty" . Instructions do not mention this and unless you see the teeny arrows on the knob you would not know this.
