Hot Pizza

We love the pizza maker, but the first time we used it the knobs got so hot we couldn’t shut it off. Thank God, my husband was able to shut it off another way we are working with Blackstone to get this problem fixed.

Follow the manual

I bought our pizza oven basically brand new from a friend who couldn’t figure out how to “dial it in” and not burn the pizza. On my first attempt, I followed the instructions provided in the manual. Preheat to 700, cut the heat back to low (I set it at about 30%), and let the temp stabilize. Mine stabilized at around 600 after initially falling back to around 500. I found that you need to leave an air gap in the front door to help the temp rise quicker than just leaving it fully secured in place. Once all that is set and ready, insert your pizza and put the door on - cook for 30 seconds…yes 30 seconds and rotate it 180 degrees, repeat again after 45 seconds and then repeat rotation every 30-45 seconds to the desired degree of finish and golden brown crust. I take mine out in about 3 to 3 1/2 minutes. The crust is beautiful, crunchy and delicious. I wish I had bought one sooner! Use corn meal on the bottom of your crust so it doesn’t stick coming off the pizza spatula or whatever that thing is called. My best advise is don’t over think it. The oven needs to be hot, it goes fast, pay attention, don’t walk away from it. All they need are 2-4 minutes max to have outstanding pizza. Best decision we have made on outdoor cookware. I wish we had done it a long time ago. Best of luck to everyone!
