Cute but not recyclable or durable
These are great plates insofar as they are adorable. They are the perfect size for serving dessert at a party or anytime. The plates have a ridge around the outside that successfully prevents minor spilllage, and they are coated with a wax or polymer that makes the colored top surface semi-water-resistant for a short period of time. The green leaves on top of the plate are raised as if embossed, and this makes them appear to glisten. The plates themselves are functionally weak. The water resistance lasts for a short period of time, so only dry foods should be served with these plates. They are not microwaveable nor are they waterproof. The water-resistant wax is only on the top side, and it's almost immediately permeable to the porous backside of the plate. Once it gets wet, this plate is useless. The plates are made in China and have a lot of warnings on the label that seem unnecessary and weird. The package of 48 comes wrapped in plastic, and there aren't instructions regarding recycling the plates or if they were made sustainably. Thes are the main reasons I only gave these cute plates only three stars.

Fun party paper plates
These pineapple plates are fun and perfect for appetizers and snacks. We use them for kids' parties and people like them a lot. They are colorful and easy. The quality is good but not for heavy main courses.
