Not for tough beards apparently
I tried to give the Series 9 some time and get used to a new way of shaving but after three months or so I can't give it a satisfactory review. It just leaves too many whiskers and I have to go back over it with a straight blade. Very frustrating because I wanted to end the repeated purchase of expensive, disposable blades and be free to shave anywhere. This shaver cost a ton of money too.

Noticeably lower quality (don't buy)
I bought the Braun Series 9 sport shaver a week ago and I can tell you, without question, I will be returning it. I've been consistently using Braun shavers, since at least 2008, because I felt the premium prices were worth the premium quality of the product and superior shave. However, the Series 9 (and any similar design) have changed my mind. The difference in design between my Series 5 and the Series 9 (shown in the pictures) is a laundry list of cutting corners. The internal difference in the blades didn't affect the quality of the shave, based on my own experimentation. However, the series 9 clearly has more possible points of failure. The plastic attachment pieces on the housing, the plethora of moving parts in the assembly itself, and no reasonable ability to clean it without immersing it in water, all make for a less resilient product. Further, the cost for a replacement assembly on series 9, as compared to the blade and cover for the series 5, is vastly higher. I'm sure this is good for Braun, but definitely not for the customer. Further, the trimmer on the back is noticeably less capable (shown in the photos below). Both the size and the cutting capability for the series 9 have been diminished. The series 9 cuts so poorly, it was pulling hairs on my face! The worst part is that the trimmer doesn't seem to be broken. It's just a shoddy product. I may give your razors another try in the future, but you've convinced me to check out other razors for the moment. This razor is pretty, for sure, but pretty is not the reason I buy a razor. Please, focus on quality again.

Power button fell off
Sounds like my power button lasted longer than most - it fell off after 3 years and seeing the reviews stating that they sent theirs in for repair and had it happen again makes me skeptical about having the repair done

Shaver Head Is Too Large for Accurate Shaving
I've been using Braun/Eltron shavers since the 1980's, but in the last several years Braun went to much larger shaving heads which makes it difficult to shave/shave around if you have a beard, goatee, mustache, etc. Plus, the trimmer cutter isn't as good as they used to be either. Hey Braun, here's an idea for you, introduce a classic version like the old 8595 or 7680...you'd sell a boat loa of them.

Good razor but power button defect
I bought this razor a few years ago and it works great but near two years in the power button broke off. I had to ship it off and got it replaced but now a year later, the same thing has happened again. I don't drop the razor or do anything but use it daily for shaving. Seems like there must be a defect with how the power button attaches. I had a Norelco before this one that lasted over 10 years with no issues.

Love the 9
I have used Braun shavers for decades but I really love the 9. I actually enjoy shaving with it. I was surprised to see such poor reviews. Definitely not my experience at all. The foil broke kind of early on so I did have to replace it but that didn’t bother me. I also love the clean and charge station. That works very well.

Not the same shave I’ve come to know and love.
I bought this a month ago and have tried waiting out this review, hoping my experience would improve. Sadly, it’s the same issue from day one, the shave isn’t close and I keep getting nicks and bumps on my neck where my Series 7 this never happened. I am saddened at the performance of this shaver and wish I could go back to my Series 7 which was amazing and had “sensitive” skin settings which is what I need.

over hyped
Looked forward to buying a Braun series 9 razor. Must be the Cadillac of electric razors. Boy was I wrong. From day one this razor did not shave as well as my old Norelco. Doesn't give a close shave and beard clippings fall out on your shirt as you shave.
