Unreliable and disappointing
I originally bought this coffee maker a couple of years ago--looking for a coffee maker to grind beans and also a trusted brand name. Unfortunately, we have had our coffee maker replaced (complimentary) twice becuase the grinder doesn't work consistently, and the coffee maker is also unreliable--sometimes the water doesn't even wet all the grounds, resulting in weak coffee. Also, figuring out the math on amounts of coffee and water is complicated for single serve vs. carafe. I really wanted to love this product, but after many attempts to get it to work, I have given up. I would not recommend this product.

I regret the purchase every day
I purchased this machine to replace my Capresso grind and brew which died after only three years. I suspected that Breville, especially at its price point, would last much longer. This is the most finicky appliance I've ever owned and it makes the at-home brewing process a taxing affair each morning. The thermal carafe is poorly designed; the carafe must be inverted 180* to get the last bit of coffee out. Cleaning the unit after each use is not a problem; we do that regardless of the machine. But, the electronic menu will function only after you've emptied and replaced the coffee filter. Need to change the clock? Can't do that until you've emptied, cleaned, and replaced the filter. The most infuriating part is the coffee chute: it won't stay closed! It opens on its own mid brew. It opens when the carafe is removed. It opens when you look at it from across the room.

Defective
I purchased two of these coffee makers in under a year. The first one lasted about 11 months then decided to no longer produce the water from the tank. I would add 8 cups of water and set the machine accordingly the machine would produce 5 cups of water/coffee. The second one did it right out of the box. After googling the issue it sounds like a common flaw.

Difficult to clean chute clogs
When I unlock the hopper the chute should open so I can clean it. It never does anymore so I’m forced to clean from the top and hope I can get it clean. I never know if it will be clogged again and have woken up to a carafe of hot water. For this price pint I expected more.

ONGOING PRODUCT BUILD DEFECTS - WARNING ⚠️
It's been 1.5 years trying to resolve with 1 repair being released with more problems. This is the worst company I've ever encountered. I expect more. The drip coffee with built in grinder has flaws - DO NOT PURCHASE.

The coffee is just not hot enough
This coffee maker does the job when it comes to grinding and brewing all at once but the coffee is just not hot enough so I will be returning this item.

Disappointing machine for the price!
The design of the carafe is poor. It does not allow anyone to use a full pot of coffee. There is always at least a cup of brewed coffee that is not pourable from the carafe, even if you remove the lib and attempt to pour the remaining coffee from the carafe. The plastic ring and the pour spout are a terrible design and a waste of coffee. Additionally, the ground basket door always pops open after the machine turns off. Not sure what kind of "feature" that is, but is terrible to come home and find this open all day. For the price, this machine is a huge disappointment.

Love it!
This is exactly what I was looking for bean to cup coffee. Maintenance is easy clean it after use which takes 2 minutes and this will last a long time. Grind control and either carafe or single cup is amazing!!! Coffee is delicious out of this machine!
